Challenge 6
I hate hate hate pics of me now and the Roadblock challenge about me page required a old and new pic. Challenge 6 was hosted by Scrappity Doo Dah
Theme: Scrap Yourself!
Directions:
1. Select 2 papers, solid/solid, solid/pattern, pattern/pattern.
2. Lay your first paper so that if covers the entire workspace.
3. Take the second paper insert it into your LO and decrease the size so that the paper is slightly smaller than the bottom layer.
4. Shadow the top layer.
5. Select a photo of you when you were younger and another one of you taken within the past year.
6. Photos should be the same size. They can be vertical or horizontal. They can be color, sepia, or black/white.
7. Place the younger version of you in the top right quadrant of your layout.
8. Frame it.
9. Place the most recent photo of you in the lower right hand quadrant of your layout.
10. Frame it.
11. Select the following number of elements and cluster the areas around these photos.
Buttons – 4

Flourishes – 2
12. Type up 10 words to describe yourself. They can be in any font, as long as its legible, and would prefer they be positives about you.
13. Tuck these words near your clustering — they must be visible and not hidden by elements.
14. Insert the following Title, anywhere on your layout : This one is for me!
And here is my layout
For all required elements and papers I used the kit “Rainbow Dreams” by A+ Designs
Used Impact and Harrington Fonts for words in clustering used impact font to cut words out of paper beveled and added stroke.
Each corner cluster has 2 buttons, 1 flower, 1 string, 1 sequined heart, 1 flourish, 1 leaf (X2 clusters for total 4 buttons, 2 flowers, 2 strings, 2 heart shapes, 2 flourshies and 2 leaves) other 2 flowers are on the mesh
2 Glitter/bling – redish pink glitter behind metal mesh and rhinestone trail between clusters
4 metal items are 2 staples, the star and the metal mesh
2 ribbons across bottom of page
I duplicated the frame after framing my old pic and cropped new pic to make it the same size as the old one.
Since I did this Roadblock Sabrina will have to do the next one…. I hope it is not as challenging as this one!
Challenges 4 and 5
Been a difficult week here so I did not post our Challenge 4. It was to create 2 (each) Artist Trading Cards. Not really something a lot of people in the Race do and there was some major throwdowns on the ADSR forum I loved the idea I came up with for my partner’s card the one for kidlet was okay but not liek the same ahhhaaa moment I had for Sabrina’s. Anyway so here are our ATCs for Challenge 4 click for post with credits:
For Challenge 5 the peeps at PrettyScrappy.com must have known I needed some Ice Cream therapy cause they have a recipe challenge requiring chocolate! Took kidlet for IceCream in a chocolate dipped cone just for the challenge. Kidlet LOVED this challenge! LOL
The requirements for this challenge are fairly simple. Follow the guidelines being as creative as possible using the recipe below. You can incorporate other items into your layout, but you must use at least 6 of the items listed. Since this is the month of Valentine’s Day, your special challenge is to incorporate CHOCOLATE into your layout. So, 6 items in the recipe and chocolate!
* 1 ribbon * 1 tree
* 1 button * 1 staple
* 2 papers * 1 set of stitching
* 1 frame * 1 tag
* 1 flower * 1 alpha
Here is mine click for link to see credits
Sabrina is still working on her Chocolatey-goodness so you just have to drool in anticipation!

The folks over at Artisan Guild have “cooked up” a recipe challenge based on 5 which is the number of years that this awesome travel throughout digiland has been running.
So the Recipe is :
Theme: 5 things I LOVE about….(choose a person, topic, idea, etc. Be Creative!)
Title: use a combination of 5 fonts and/or alphas (example: use 2 different fonts and 3 different alphas)

Use 5 different elements of the same type (example: use 5 different flowers or 5 different buttons, etc.)
Season to taste: add ingredients from your digital pantry to make this layout your own!
I used Jen Yurko’s Goodies..(click on Jen’s name to be transported to her store at IL)

Cuppycake Designs – December 13
Scrapper Girl Designs – My Soldier
Shelleyray Designs – Ransom Notes Girl, Ransom Notes Life
Amy Stoffel – Let Freedom Ring
Sarah Morgan Designs – Doctor Doctor (heart)
And the first challenge is up!
I love this first challenge Hosted by the wonderful gang at NDIS.
The First Challenge is:
There are only three basic rules:
1) Your layout is about your partner. Introduce your partner to us. How you do this is entirely up to you. You can interview them, you can send them a questionnaire, you can use 5 words that best describe them, you can journal how you met for this race, or if you’ve been partners for years, you can make your page about a friendship that started with a crazy internet race and has since turned into so much more. The only rule is, the layout is about your partner and you need to tell us something about them.
2) You must include at least one photo of your partner. Large, small, color, b&w, of their face, back of their head, feet, whatever. But it must be a picture of your partner.
3) You must choose one layout from your partner’s gallery and scraplift that as the page design for your layout. Only the placement of items is needed. You don’t have to lift the colors, theme, etc. Just the overall placement of papers, elements, title and journaling.
I love this challenge since I can tell everyone what an awesome person my ADSR5 partner is.
Here is the layout of Sabrina’s I am going to attempt to scraplift and the photo she sent me to use.
And here is my layout I hope Sabrina likes it.
I used Scrap Shana’s Chic Sophisticate.
I love it Hollie!
And here is mine for Hollie!

ADSR5 STARTS TOMORROW!!!!!!! OOPs it isn’t till Sunday.. :(
I’m so excited I could spit! Gonna be all OCD tonight I know checking out where we have to go so I can make sure I am registered there since I really don’t know that many digi sites when you look at all of the ones that are out there. And there are some that i have accounts but only because I saw something too cute that I had to have and bought from that store but didn’t get signed up for the newsletter some how so haven’t been there again.
This is going to be great for not only all the fun layout making and goodies getting but making sure I am signed up for newsletters everywhere. The awesome site hosting the ADSR I think I have bought stuff from them before but had not been registered on their forum so that was great finding such a nice group of people already.
Remember root for team #184 to finish the race! And the great thing about ADSR series We want you to root for all the teams cause everyone moves forward when they participate!
Got Our Confirmation Email
Well we are now officaly offical and I can stop being all OCD about if we got in or not we are team #184 for those of you following along at home.
I was getting a little nervious I knew we got the email in in time since I got up at 8am to send it in even thought I really needed about 10 more hours of sleep to make up for all the sleep lost going to see my grandfather with all my cousins. I’m really excited about the challenges and to be able to use some of the heritage photos I got at my Aunt’s this weekend. Will be nice to be doing the challenges and making beautiful layouts to share with the family.
Yeahhh Go Team #184
tngal22 and TheMommason have teamed up!!
Welcome to tngal22 and TheMommason ‘ s ADSR (Amazing Digi Scrap Race) blog as team
The Clustered Minimalist Layeristas
Team Member Profiles:
tngal22: Hi, I am Sabrina, mostly known in the Digi-land as tngal22. My home is Inspiration Lane but I also shop at Gotta Pixel, Scrap Orchard, Elemental Scraps, After Five, and other stores.
How I got hooked on Digi: I have a friend that has been doing Digital Scrapbooking for a while and when my hubby got deployed in Fall ‘08, I decided I wanted something to keep my mind busy. So I asked her how to start. So pointed me to DST to learn the ins and outs of the digi world.
What Softwear I use: I use PSE6. I started with it and it does what I need to so I haven’t changed. I have looked at upgrading to PSE8 but decided against it. I like my comfort zone…lol.
Style: I am not real sure what my style is. I don’t use templates, mainly because I didn’t know how until recently.
But I like to create from scratch anyways. I like to try different things though I do tend to stick to one or two pictures only because I like to focus on the picture. I am not a big journaler (is that right?) but I am learning with the P365.
Favorite Designers: All of the designers at Inspiration Lane! Plus Connie Prince, Amy Stoffel, Catherine Designs, Nikki Beaudeau, and several others around the digi land. I usually buy what catches my eye, not just the designer.
What I’m most excited about the with the ADSR: Working with Hollie as a team. I have not really been involved in the digi world, minus the challenges at IL, so for me to say yes to ADSR is a big step for me. I am excited about what Hollie and I will come up with and all the excitement of the race. I also look forward to seeing what everyone creates.
Motto for the Race: Have fun! I love making layouts so being able to create layouts with Hollie will be blast. I am not the most trendiest scrapper but I still have fun and enjoy it. I am not afraid to try new things so I am up for the challenge of ADSR!
TheMommason : Hey I’m H or Hollie but throughout digi land you will see me as TheMommason (capitalitalization depends on the site) . I love lots of sites but normaly only go shopping at most via newsletter/email updates. My “home” digi site is Inspiration Lane . I started out in Febuary 2009 jumping through several sites, Gotta Pixel, Scrap Matters, GoDigital Scrapbooking, DigiScrapiganza, OScraps and others that I found once someone finnaly told me what the DST and DSA ment lol. We all need to rememeber we were newbies once and have no clue what the acronyms mean or where they are
How I got hooked on Digi: I was invited to join a very talented designer Shannon (SillyBeans Scraps) only a few weeks into figureing out how to make layers in PSE4 . Shannon took me to IL and I have never left. They are stuck with me 4eva!
What Softwear I use: I started useing PSE4 on my MAC and now switch between PSE4 (MAC), PSE5 (work computer) and PSE5, CS3 and PhotoImpact12 (laptop). CS3 is still pretty intimadating to me so mostly use the PSE5 and helps me when I start a layout at work to finish at home.
Style: I am a template user I usually will even build a template before starting a challenge layout so I can get down what I want it to look like before I start. So my style depends on the template
Favorite Designers: Joyful Heart Designs, Jenn Yurko, Steel City Scraps, Christie Lemmon, Digital Couture, Pixel Pisces Designs, Creative Confusion, Lemmon City, Laura Bozeman, ShelleyRae Designs, Serene by RW, Sherri Tierney,
JennCK, JillDzines, Creations By Rachael, Jennifer Schmitt, Miss Tiina, FruitLOopSally, Holliewood Studios, Sue Cummings, Something Blue Designs, the designers at Inspiration Lane, ScrapbookGraphis, Digital Crea, and so many others that I only know them when I hop over through newletters or by searching for a kit I saw in a layout I must have.
What I’m most excited about the with the ADSR: Working as a team with tngal22 we are learning we have so many things in common and I love that we are both kinda newbies to Digiscrapping and learning so much togeather. We seem to be inspiration for eachother without even really knowing it. We are both blessed with kidlets when we were not aupposed to be able to have them. I had a miracle of somehow maintaining beastly when he was an expected miscarrage that was my last allowed by doctors attempt. Sabrina was blessed with her lil bit through adoption. Both of our paths to having these amazing kids were hard and emotionaly a battle and hopefully it shows how much those paths were worth it in our memories we share in our layouts.
My Motto for the race: “Share from your heart and let the rules follow YOU in making your layouts.” I just feel like the first time I tried a layout contest / Challenges I was producing layouts just to follow the rules but not layouts I was going to keep or use cause they were not me. I think I have learned over this year that doing challenges is fun for the rewards of the coupons or freebies but the main reward is supposed ot be layouts I love and can’t wait to add to my Digital Picture frames and share with family and friends. You have to put the You part first in designing your layout and then let the rules/challenge follow.
